I love cats. Something I read one time was: People who hate cats are people who hate having to ask consent. Dogs tend to be very friendly and okay with you petting them suddenly, while cats need to warm up to you, and those people get so offended when a cat isn’t so accepting of strangers

I’ve always grown up around cats more so I gravitate to them more but they’re both awesome and cool and so are basically every animal on this beautiful planet

People can treat dogs pretty bad too. Both of my dogs were rescued, and they both have had a lot of clear mental and emotional issues. My old dog had massive separation anxiety, and my current dog is really stressed around new people, and has problems with control his hunger (he was likely underfed in the past)

I never said that animal abuse for dogs doesn’t exist. I just think it exists at a higher rate in cats. Too many stereotypes and stigmas. I’m less informed on dog behavior, but this is why cats are shy and have boundaries. People usually don’t like that.
