i've genuinely met more stupid men than I have stupid women, but that doesn't mean all men are stupid. I think it's most men tend to have inflated egos so when they are wrong they act like they are right unlike women when if there is a chance they are wrong they are less likely to be confident abt it.

We get bashed on for a lot of things and intelligence is definitely one of them. I’ve witnessed countless women flat out call men as a whole stupid

as all people do, they get caught up in generalizations. but the overall conversation theyre having is about a societal/cultural standard men are held to being overall lower than what women are held to, and intelligence is a broad word that can cover a lot. emotional intelligence, cultural/historical knowledge and interest, media literacy, political awareness (women are much more impacted by politics though everyone is). i get why the generalization is frustrating but just look deeper

There’s research suggesting that men are more likely to be either really smart or really stupid

it's also at least within my experience lots of people who just don't have critical thinking skills. like the people who believe everything a politician says without doing additional research or believing things they see online no matter how fishy it sounds. like i saw a tt of this women who hired a girl to babysit her kids and after the kids went to be she wanted to make tea and decided to use a self heating mug, BUT put it in the mircowave and it obviously like exploded.

and the girl like didn't even question why that mug was heavier than regular mug, or even why it looked different like she genuinely just thought it was a regular mug. it's stuff like that make it really obvious when someone is stupid. and i think just bc men in general have ego issues, they double down whenever they may be wrong.

Idk if it’s an ego issue or a society issue tbh. Much of masculinity is wrapped up in the idea of competence, so a lot of guys feel like being wrong about something somehow reflects badly on their value as a person.

yeah that would connect to their ego wouldn't it not?

Right, but it’s a misaligned ego, not an inflated one
