You’re both barely out of high school bruh don’t form your opinions on all men based off some dude who doesn’t even have a frontal lobe

Any guy whose worth it will listen. If they’re not listening they’re not interested or they got something on their mind. Ask him non confrontingly

Kind of a vague stance to the question, but i dont want to outright dismiss you. What sort of instances does this occur? Is it all times when you speak? Or mentioning specific topics? Is it like an accountability thing? I dont want to generalize it to all men (even if there are some ego assholes out there. But help me get a better grasp of it bc it could be a communications failure related to a very certain circumstance.

Don’t be angry or annoyed. Be gentle and subtle. Be as nice as possible and just say how it made you feel but in a nice way

it’s not a general man thing, but asking “is this a general man thing” when you really mean “why doesn’t this guy listen to me” is what makes it bad faith

like all the time. a few weeks ago i had told him about ed sheraan getting cancelled & while no, its not an important topic it rubbed me the wrong way cause literally last night i had brought it up again cause he was singing an ed sheraan song and he goes “oh i didnt know he was getting cancelled” .. yes you did cause i told you 🤨 (1/2)

THEN tonight i had been playing this game on my ipad that ive been playing for maybe a week or two & i got to a point where the game hasnt developed the next part and was upset. i mentioned this out loud that it was upsetting. he then goes “hows your game” .. i JUST said 5 minutes ago that i have to wait for it to be developed. again it may not seem like an important topic but i dont wanna get into this and continue having problems like this (2/2)

No, i totally get it, and having a failure in communication is kinda the biggest signal that something isnt making it through, be it an emotion, idea, etc. im gonna be honest with you, this sounds like hes sorta ignoring you,, but i dont think its because hes intentionally trying to. Dude cant remember the first time you said something, or at least acts like he didnt, fair enough. Hes preoccupied with something else. That second time of you telling him, is like a refresher.

Now, you. Gotta see what hes. Preoccupied with. Is he sorta zoned out just giving you that “uh-huh” “yeah” to whatever you say and not really listening? It’s def frustrating either way. I hear what you said, the examples you put weren’t like… crazy pressing matters, but it still served as a reminder that even with something minor, you still weren’t being heard, which im sure still doesnt feel too great.

ok so then what is your personal opinion / advice on how to like move forward or confront the situation without it becoming and even bigger issue? because for me, i wanna be heard without having to repeat myself 40 million times; its frustrating and exhausting

most of the time when we’re on the phone hes either watching tv or playing video games & his responses anytime i talk are always like “uh-uh” or “okay” like … nothing substantial to have a conversation & it feels sorta like im talking to a wall the whole time. i also dont wanna interrupt his downtime but in the same breath i want attention & most of his week consists of going to his part-time job where we met, playing basketball w his buddies & he has class like 3 times a week (give or take)

You approach him ready to understand wtv he has to say even if he doesn’t say anything and you don’t accuse him. Just bring it up forwardly and say you don’t feel heard
