I need advice 😭 I’ve been dating my bf for almost 3 yrs (both 22), we are long distance (dif countries) my parents know him and have met his parents, but my parents are still rly strict and i see him 2 times a yr. Is it a bad idea sneak up there?

You’re 22 and you have to “sneak” to go somewhere?? You’ve gotta deal with that issue first lol

question how did you guys meet? was he like a international student? i was also gonna say if you're 22, legally you can do what you want but reading the comments it makes sense that it's less of a permission thing and more of a respect thing. my suggestion is if you're close with ur parents explain how you want to see him. maybe they'll be more understanding but try phrasing it as you are seeing him not asking

It’s mainly my guilt for lying I think I could get away with it, I feel bad to make him always spend money and fly to me especially when we are both in med school

It’s kind of a shit fam if they disown you because you went to visit your partner of 3 years. You think that’s healthy???

Well personally, I do love my parents and they have done a lot for me and I respect that, it’s j that long distance isn’t easy and knowing that I have to do ldr for 3 more yrs only meeting him 2 times a yr is hard

It was on tik tok, which sounds sketchy and 1st world 😭 but he’s safe like my parents have met him multiple times they think he’s a good guy both our parents talk and have met for dinner multiple times. I’ve tried explaining and it never ends well I don’t think anything would make them ok w me going alone
