I think this is highly dependent on the relationship. Im gay and typically its not a problem in my circles but the fact tjat it makes you uncomfortable makes it disrespect! And the blatant dismissal of your feelings is a huge red flag. If hes willing to steamroll your requests for boundaries on something like this then do you imagine it may continue for other things?
