They are raised to protect women, but that doesn’t make them better protectors. It depends on the individual, man or woman.

Against unambiguous and obvious threats? Absolutely. Think grizzly bears and sabertooths and whatnot. Against men? Varies wildly on based on context and how you measure it. Women are more aggressive, but not usually more effective. When you have to read a “damsel-in-distress”’s mind or interpret a situation, women tend to overclassify men as threats, while men do the opposite, each as the product of our own biases. (I.e. men won’t help a girl unless she (actually) expresses discomfort/fear bc

I’ll give you an example. I was raised to protect women, no matter what. No exceptions. And I have been in situations where I’ve seen women being physically threatened and deescalated the situation physically. I’ve also been friends with women who I know and trust would step in and protect me and/or other women physically and succeed. With ease.

we don’t feel we can make her decisions for her. While women will “rescue” her friend who’s clearly & openly trying to get laid, to keep her from looking slutty or something similarly unimportant, but react like it’s a safety concern.) Arguably women’s approach is more cautious & thus better. But they also endanger each other by encouraging bad communication & conflating safety concerns with unrelated insecurities. So it’s a complex thing to keep score of.
