If you could ask any man one question and you knew he would reply completely honestly, what would you ask ?

How do I make sense of what a friend is putting down? The “classic” signs of someone being into me are usually lost on me and my mom/sister day I flirt back by just being nice (which sucks bc I’m not trying to flirt or anything I’m actually trying to keep a healthy distance since I’m not looking for a relationship rn) but it keeps happening and I need a way for it to NOT happen

Any man is tricky. I don’t know who I would choose for that. Probably someone in politics. In general I think I’d ask questions about what people genuinely thought. I’m really awful at figuring out what people are thinking.

Oooo that’s tricky. I think my biggest one is just communication. People aren’t talking about what they actually want and it’s leading to a LOT of confusion. If someone wants hookups be straight about it. Even if it would “lower” you’re size pool I still think it’s better

Honestly? I would be honest with them. Tell your friends you aren’t looking for a relationship and be clear about that. If you’ve already done that then you’ve done all you can. It sucks so much when someone wants more than what you want/can give but it’s apart of life b

Comfortable? I enjoy my space and alone time. I don’t feel inherently lonely on my own because I can always meet new people and message my friends. Even if they don’t respond right away, I am comfortable with the idea that I have them.

Yea it’s tricky. Maybe a better question would be if you could ask every man one question

Well everyone is different. There’s no universal question that everyone will understand or anything like that. But I do genuinely want men’s true thoughts on women. I think that answer would be the most telling of many.

Of course! Obviously I don’t know your situation but that’s what I do. Or at least try!

That’s a good question. I think I would ask men (and women) what do they need the most. I think that would be revealing too

That’s a good one! I think needs and wants are inherently different in relationships and in life in general. What I need is different from what I want, you know?

That’s an interesting perspective. I kind of think of it all as desire that just occupies a different level of Maslows hierarchy. I’d imagine a lot of the answers for people in wealthy countries would actually reveal a lot about what emotional gaps they have that weren’t filled in childhood or adolescence

upvote 7 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> #1 6w

Maslows hierarchy is a great basic idea but it obviously isn’t perfect. People strive for progress. But what you may see as progress may be someone’s worst moments. We are so different that one question simply won’t work for anyone. I may ask how someone feels about the cost of food and someone who has no issue with the cost may not be someone who could give a thoughtful answer.

Also people who hate each other vocally and cannot keep their opinions to themselves. It makes the entire dating atmosphere so much more hostile.

This is a good point. Two people could experience the same lack and feel its absence entirely differently

Exactly! And that’s what’s so beautiful- and awful about the human experience. Someone we are speaking to may have nothing in common with us.

Real. I have a twin brother -experienced the first 18 years of our lives under the same roof- but still are wildly different people

That’s super cool actually! And yeah it happens like that a lot with siblings. Me and my sister are WILDLY different in temperament. She gets angry very easily and very quickly. And she also holds grudges

They’ll never stop the claim. But yeah everyone is so different it’s hard to figure things out. It’s also very evident in dating. Everyone sees the same thing very differently.

If alone in public, im anxious. Always on guard & on edge. Constantly aware of my surroundings. If alone (at home), its a relief feeling. I can take off my clothes & put my mask down.

If someone is flirting with you and you do not want to reciprocate, you can make that clear by setting clear boundaries verbally. Body language wise, no prolonged eye contact, initiate physical distance if they keep trying to close the gap between you and them, shift your gaze & torso away from them. If they ask personal/sexual questions, say you won't be answering that. If they keep pushing flirtation, you can say "yea Im not interested" and move on.
