Because having sex with a new person is so much more likely to introduce new experiences, we need a scaling factor to equalize the two events relative to experience gained. Roughly, having sex with a new person is probably similar to fucking a s/o ten times. So someone who’s body count is 3 one night stands has the same experience as a 1 who fucked their s/o 30 times.

I think the general point of body count for some people is seeing how the other person views sex. The person who hooked up with ten people sees sex as more of a casual activity, while the person who left a committed relationship sees sex as something only reserved for someone they have a genuine connection with
