attractivness is subjective, and it's pretty shitty to think someone isn't worth of love of affection bc you find them unattractive. even objectively "unattractive" people. i put that in quotation marks bc like everyone is attractive to someone, and it's not always for a fucked up reason like a fetish
alr idc continue to be delusional. being overweight is not attractive to the masses. thereâs a reason why the ideal woman is skinny/fit. itâs not MY opinion. itâs literally the worldâs standard. outliers and exceptions exist, and once again, EYE never said that fat people are unattractive, jesus.
Eh four is kinda right. The "ideal woman" has changed over time but in ancient history chubby women were demmed the beauty standard and there is evidence in that in various sculptures and artifacts. It was a sign of wellnorishment and bigger women were linked to be more suitable for childbearing.
Alsl "the masses" can't accurately define attractiveness. For example most men in the caribbean would say that a thick black women is the ideal woman for them, but men in Japan probably would disagree with that. There r tons of factors that determine what the beauty standard is and there isn't really one universal beauty standard any more with the birth of the internet and being exposed to different forms of beauty.
are you all okay? like seriously. youâre all deliberately being dense, changing the goalpost, because you donât want to accept/admit the fact that majority of the world view skinny/fit as ideal. please tell me why weâre talking about ancient history when that has nothing to do with what i stated
Fat women will survive the winter during a famine whereas skinny women would starve. Evolutionary biology suggests that food resources is one of the most important thing for women. Also; you DID say fat women were unattractive. Letâs not pretend otherwise. Anyways, the point is that everyone has different preferences. Stop being an arse. You canât speak for humanity as a whole having a specific beauty standard.
my very first statement says âfat people are deemed unattractiveâ and that itâs the ugly truth. since your comprehension skills are lacking, that statement means that our society view fat/being overweight as unattractive, and THATâS the ugly truth. so no, I NEVER said that fat people are unattractive to ME. then, youâre bringing up ancient history and biology when that still doesnât change my point? like, admit reality. itâs okay.
or they are just projecting their insecurities onto someone who THEY deem unattractive and like can't imagine why someone would love them since they aren't "the ideal women" that's why I put "objectively unattractive" in quotation marks bc no one is objectively unattractive, i mean like I explained where u live, and your culture, upbringing and so many other factors contribute to attraction. it goes both ways too. someone who is skinny/fit could be deemed unattractive.
You said 1. âFat people are deemed unattractiveâ and you claim that itâs backed by âstatistics and reality consensusâ You continue to say 2. âour society view fat as being unattractiveâ 1. You assume that âsocietyâ is a monolith who have âdeemed fat as unattractiveâ. Thatâs not true. There is no singular consensus to beauty.
2. There is no âreality consensusâ there is no âsingular definition of beautyâ. Stop trying to label everyone into a single viewpoint. - the definition of subjective âbased on or influenced by personal feelings, tastes, or opinions.â So no, unless humans are a hive mind, there is no Singular âconsensusâ that fat people are considered unattractive across the board.
so yes, within your points, you literally proved how I didnât say that fat people are unattractive to ME. iâve been saying since the beginning that itâs the reality of this society. so you saying i did is ridiculous. now that we got that out of the way, the whole âbeauty is subjectiveâ, âbeauty is in the eye of the beholderâ, blah blah blah. thatâs very obvious.
youâre refusing to admit the ugly truth of reality. if we do a consensus right now and make a poll asking âwhich is your ideal woman?â and have the two options be either skinny/fit vs fat/overweight, everyone in this sub knows that majority would vote for, hence why I said MAJORITY OF PEOPLE THINK THIS WAY. never said everyone, never says subjectiveness doesnât exist. but you CAN be objective on what majority of reality thinks. accept it.
Earlier you claimed you were âstating what reality thinksâ and that fat people are unattractive according to âreality and statisticsâ and now youâre acting like you never said that. This isnât about what you view as attractive or not. This is about your attempt to dictate society as a whole as having a generalized viewpoint. There is no âreality of societyâ Everyone has different preferences. Stop acting like âsocietyâ has a monolithic view of what is attractive or not.
A yikyak poll is not representative of society as a whole. Itâs a very niche app with an even smaller subset of users in a specific forum. If you want to say that âthe average person browsing AskMen thinks skinnier people are more attractive than fat peopleâ. Just say so! But donât act like yikyak polls speak for âsociety as a wholeâ
what speaks for society as a whole is opening your eyes. look at how fat people are treated. why are they bullied, insulted, treated horribly, have less representation in the entertainment and fashion industry? why when seen in a happy relationship, others think that he canât love her for her? why are there issues of fat people not being able to have their size in markets? why are they not marketed? iâll answer it for you. iâll answer it for you, itâs the ugly truth of societyâs view of fat ppl.
Alright, so if you arenât just talking about America then you should know that in some cultures âfatâ is seen as attractive. Whatâs so hard to believe about that? Yeah, people across the world have different preferences. Society is not a monolith, and there is no singular objective reality when it comes to beauty.
trust me it is, i went to jamaica on a trip and i'm not even overweight i'm just curvy and i've literally never gotten so much male attention in my life. we aren't trying to attack you, we are just trying to let you know there isn't a definite beauty standard, and unattractiveness is subjective as is attractiveness. if you look up famous beautiful celebrities in specific countries they aren't all gonna look the same đ
Genuinely donât understand why your struggling with the concept that not everyone has the same ideal body proportions.. in Korea the men look like femboys, in China the women are pale because they hate getting tanned. Thatâs why they have umbrellas in the summer. Plus Asians are usually skinny ASF.
Traditional Chinese women have white makeup to really look pale. Also, it might be important to establish the difference between morbid obesity and fat, and curvy thick. Because Iâm guessing none of us are on the same page. All weâre trying to say is: there is no âreality and statisticsâ that define an âobjective beauty standardâ All of this is summarized with âbeauty is in the eye of the beholderâ or âone manâs trash is anotherâs treasureâ
they hate getting tanned because being pale is the beauty standard in asian countries. anyway, not struggling with anything. a 10 year old could tell you that everyone have different preferences, but thatâs not what iâm refuting so very confused on why you and #4 keep going back to that. i stated my point and proved it
Once again; are you defining âsociety as a wholeâ as America? Because first you say itâs âsocietyâ and then you say âwell Iâm not talking about other countriesâ and now youâre saying you proved a point when earlier you were trying to speak on behalf of the entirety of âsocietyâ Itâs whatever. At the end of the day, some people like skinny, lean, thick, fat, and obese. Depends on who you ask, and where you go. Obviously.
So instead of thinking that guy âmust be into feederismâ maybe just understand that heâs okay with his gf being bigger for whatever reason. Itâs just a specific preference. I mean look up ârenaissance womanâ and youâll see paintings where a lot of women are thick or even fat because back then starvation was a lot more of a concern.
well i never had that thought. itâs like what iâm saying is going in one ear throughout the other. iâve stated multiplie times that I donât view fat people negatively. i never said âiâm not talking about other countriesâ. i literally said that iâm not talking about just America. so yes op and #4, being fat is universally unattractive. and for some reason by me saying this, you both think that means 100% of the world. it does not. but again, to be overweight is universally unattractive.
The definition of universally is âby everyone; in every case.â When you say âbeing fat is universally unattractiveâ you are saying that âeveryone / 100% of the world views it as unattractiveâ If you simply changed the phrasing to âmost people in America think being fat is unattractiveâ then I would agree with you.
