can always just split the bill/ send your SO 50% the bill if there's issues and it's a new relationship. i always find that easier so there's less stress or resentment

I think that neither of tou should have to pay for the whole thing unless either of you are feeling generous. As the gf you do have the societal freedom to decide that point when you feel like it, so it really up to you. Just beware that there’s a fine line between letting him pay and being a cheapskate
