Neither of yalls last names are your names, they track bloodlines (historically). Now they just mainly exist so printer companies can sell more ink in technology that allegedly hasn’t advanced in three decades.

personally professionally i want to keep my last name. its whats on my degree and my husband did nothing to contribute to that.

I suppose that’s fair. The only reason I would leave is if someone said something like “your name sucks it’s boring”. For a degree you already have, I get it.
