Fellas, do you still invite the friend knowing if he accepts he’s going to visibly not have fun or enjoy himself?

This is actually a really tough decision. On one hand, I’d hate to ostracize him and basically plan a whole outing without his presence, but on the other hand, if I do bring him along, he’d have a terrible time anyways. In the end, I would still extend an invite to him to be cordial. If he doesn’t accept, that’s that. If he does, I’ll try to make him feel more welcomed.

That’s where I’m at. I hate leaving people out, but he accepts invites for the company not the activities, and I don’t think he realizes how he comes across bringing the mood down

If he really wants the company, then I think you should extend some duo invites where’s it’s just the two of you. Maybe you touch on how his presence affects others, maybe not, but I think he’d appreciate the personal experience.

Gonna be straight with you, just be a man and tell him how you feel. Maybe he is having fun and just doesn’t realize how he comes off. Maybe he’s in need of a reason to not go. Who knows. Be a little rough and confront him on it.
