Can you provide examples? I’ve mostly seen criticisms that she’s A) pandering to the male gaze which isn’t the best and B) the sexual nature is okay generally, but not for the topic at hand due to cultural contexts

I think often many of the male gaze critiques are done in a manner that emphasizes shaming her for using her body to sell sex. Like yeah the gambling commercial sucks but ppls critiques seem to often be about it being slutty and on her more than the company

I was mostly referring to her most recent sports commercial, I’ve somehow managed to entirely miss the gambling one. And yes I do agree on that. On one hand I do think she’s in the category of women who’s sex positivity works against women (instead of celebrating women’s sex, it uses it to cater to the male gaze) but I do agree a lot of critiques boil down to “sexy woman bad 😡” which I vehemently disagree with

Generally we can agree murder is wrong, but we can acknowledge there are cases in which murder would be justified right? It’s not the murder that changes if it’s okay, it’s the context. This is what a lot of guys don’t get with Sydney Sweeney. It’s not being sex positive, it’s the context in which she’s being sexual
