What does low maintenance mean and is that generally a good thing? To me its sounds like “yeah you are less of a problem and I can be cheap with you”, which I don’t like how that sounds…so should I be more high maintenance so I can have a better partner??

I wanna say as a woman, what one dude calls high maintenance another guy might call low maintenance. I had one bf who paid for my therapy $265 every other week and I’d pay the rest of the time (I did weekly) And I had another boyfriend who wouldn’t pay for therapy but was willing to fly me to visit his family in Virginia.

Being low maintenance means that you’re not a needy person. Which can be meant in multiple ways. A high maintenance person could be someone who absolutely needs their specific routine, a certain particular brand of item, or really picky with the food they eat. It could also be someone who is very emotionally needy, overly clingy and co-dependent, in constant need of reassurance, or easily triggered and quick to set off. An autistic child, would be high maintenance.

well of course it sounds bad when you put it that way. high maintenance is generally just a way to describe women who expect too much, like having her man pay for new nails every week, new hair, vacations, new clothes, taking her shopping, etc., all the time. low maintenance just means she doesn’t automatically expect all that stuff. doesn’t mean you won’t get it occasionally. just be yourself but if you’re high maintenance then expect to make it worth it for him. that’s just how it works.

and being high maintenance does not increase your chances of finding a “better” guy by any means. if anything, less men will be willing to put up with you and you’re likely to find a guy who expects you to do whatever he asks in exchange for all the stuff he does for you. no free lunch.

A low-maintenance person is someone who can generally take care of themself. Who isn’t especially picky and is adaptable in their routines. Who doesn’t require constant external validation. And doesn’t have a meltdown when things aren’t exactly the way they want them.
