I’m I an asshole for nicely telling a guy, on a dating app, that I don’t like being called “ma’am” especially since we are the same age (19). In the south, it’s typically referred to older women. After that he said I have no manners and ghosted me 😐

If he wasn’t able to meet you where you are regardless of what maam means generally, you dodged a bullet. It’s not hard to not call you a nickname even if he means it in an endearing way. He’s not perceiving your feelings only his intentions, which is a huge red flag
