Centrist (closet right wing) I accept my position now as a left wing. I grew up in a very conservative household so I think a part of me was in self denial, but I pretty much accepted and acknowledged my own opinions

AYYEE!! Yay! Glad you’re comfortable stepping out of your comfort zone. I mean this genuinely so many people cling to what’s comfortable and end up losing a part of themselves through denial

Very similar thing for me. I didn’t even vote in the election (mostly cuz Utah is very red and nothing I can do will change that). But ever since the election, I’ve realized I am more left than I thought. I didn’t like trump before, but for whatever reason my father loves him so I was somewhat indifferent. But holy shit more and more have I realized he’s a shit human and I’m disappointed in myself I didn’t at least try to keep him out of office and power.

I’ve started working part time at a non-profit therapy organization specifically for the LGBTQ+ community, because frankly Utah with the religious population is one of the worst states for them to live in. And seeing the impact that the current state of politics has on them has made me grow some serious hatred for the government.
