How come I’m supposedly “average height” at 5’10 yet when I go out in public like 75% of men and 25% of women are taller than me? I swear the average is more like 6’1 for guys, can anyone else agree?

Regional differences, 5’10 is likely the average across ALL men in the US

Less than 10% of the young adult male U.S. population is 6’1” or taller. This is entirely a question of your perception and insecurity

It genuinely just comes down to perception.

I feel like that’s tall? Im a girl that’s 5’0 but to me or any other girls around my height we would think that’s super tall 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ve been to many different places, always the same. Maybe places with more Hispanic people are on average shorter, but other than that

It does dude. People are shorter in the south and taller in the Midwest. In general. It absolutely depends on their genetics / race though. For example: Oklahomans are often white and tell. Most women are 5’ 10” on average. Southerners are a mixed bag. Most women are closer to 5’ 4” on average

Also less than a percent of women are 5’10” or higher.
