Eat less, lift weight. Get most of your calories from LEAN protein.

Fasting and lifting. Sprinters tend to have better tone than distance runners for some reason.

The only way to lose weight is by diet. Look it up; the gym doesn’t actually “burn fat”. It’s great for building muscle though, which will make you more toned.

Eat in a calorie deficit and stay active

Yeah, you need to be on a calorie deficit to lose fat but most gym goers actually have to force themselves to eat MORE in order to gain muscle. Also, one need to be on a calorie SURPLUS to gain muscle.

Going to the gym definitely burns calories, but cardio will be more effective at it

No. The most effective is building muscle. Anabolism (muscle growth) burns a lot of energy. Not to mention, more muscle increases the baseline caloric demand of the body
