Need advice. Think I may have feelings for my guy friend. Problem is I’m not his usual type weight wise. He likes skinny petite girls. I am short and curvy/have meat on my bones. Idk how to proceed, I love our friendship but dont wanna ignore my feelings

Just so you know 1 is blocked for me so I would be cautious. But you look great I wouldn’t put yourself down

Studies have shown that when two people have known each other for a long time, their decision to partner up isn’t as based on looks.

In my opinion, if you both are single, you should definitely ask him out. He could feel the same and if so, it could be the start of a beautiful relationship for both of you. If he doesn't feel the same, I know that can hurt a lot, but you'll at least know and can move on, and your friendship can make it through. You never wanna wonder what could have been if you have the chance to find out now!

You could do what I’ve done a million times in my life and just pretend you don’t care about them. You could also just say fuck it, it’s less likely to ruin the friendship when the girl is asking as opposed to the other way around. If you don’t mind, how “meaty” are we talking? Genuinely chubby or just some curves? There’s a big difference

This seems immensely similar to a situation I’ve been in, all the way down to knowing each other for a year starting in January. I was on the dude. I said yes :) We’ve been together 10 months, going strong.

I usually like skinny petite girls too but if a curvy girl came my way I wouldnt turn her down. Sometimes guys say they have a type but we lowkey have a buffet of types underneath

Guys aren’t as picky as corporations want you to think. Seriously, Victoria’s Secret and yogurt companies have convinced women that guys only like skinny girls, and that’s just not true, especially not to that extent. Most guys, myself included, aren’t into fat girls, and when I say fat, I mean fat. But a natural body with curves, I’ll take it. Also the only girl I’ve ever dated looked nothing like what I expected my first girlfriend to look like, but I’m definitely attracted to her!

You can only communicate how you feel and learn from the experience. Maybe he doesn’t want you but other guys will

I am the dude. I had just never imagined myself with a girl on the curvier side. I had minor reservations about it because I was worried she would be totally uninterested in some of the athletic hobbies I have, but mentally reevaluated what I actually wanted in a relationship. She’s everything I could ask for and more. If I had a laboratory where I could create the girl of my dreams, I would have failed at making someone better. Don’t put too much emphasis on surface level things like “type.”
