I asked this question on onlypolls and got a comment regarding height insecurity with guys, so now I’m curious: which do you prefer for you personal style?

Also for those that say they never want to and it’s for fashion reasons rather than comfort/safety reasons, consider:

If you don’t want to that’s totally fine, but I feel like these look so damn cool!!

these look decent but i heard high heels are bad for your spine/back. idk if id ever wear them. maybe some other black shoes with flat soles would serve as a good alternative

If you wear them constantly, yes they can absolutely cause damage. For health reasons, I can only wear them every now and then, maybe once a month (joint issues). But, for someone with no relevant health issues, only wearing them once or twice a week should be fine!

The models are all thin, most men aren’t. Also no guy is wearing those outside of a photoshoot.

True, all the examples are of thinner men, though society has a bias towards them over fat men so that’s what shows up overwhelmingly when you search “men in heels”. I couldn’t find any that suited my preferences since all that comes up when searching “plus sized men in heels” is more femme styles, but here’s one that looks pretty good

I see where you’re coming from, but also I know a lot of y’all are repressing a want to express yourself more in your fashion, sometimes in a more femme way because society HATES when a man wants to be femme. Absolutely fair if you don’t want to, but many actually do and just don’t feel safe to!

Do you have any brands you prefer, especially for your mobility issues? I have sciatica and wearing heels usually fucks my back up immediately

None I prefer no, I kinda just wear the same ones whenever I do want to wear heels lol. They’re these witchy looking walking boots from Ecco, they were hand-me-downs from my grandma and it doesn’t appear that Ecco sells them anymore😔

You’re right that mens’ fashion is often very restrictive, but I don’t think dressing “femme” is the only way to expand it.

No yeah I get that, I specified that /sometimes/ the way men feel restricted in how they express themselves via fashion is by not letting themselves dress as femme as they’d like lol, I never said that’s always the case
