do some men genuinely give up on a woman they want to be with bc they've fucked up too many times and you deserve better? or is it more likely that a guy is not fighting for another chance bc you're just not worth the trouble anymore?

Yea, either can be true, it’s case dependent. Or both; you stop bc you (or she) had too many hiccups + the effort isn’t worth it due to self doubt or the value proposition decreased when new information came into the light

If we’re talking about what you’re saying then no it doesn’t make sense. What I’m saying is if there’s something he heard about the package (you) that wasn’t disclosed before (something negative) then he might not see a point to pushing further. Remember, dating is a two way street

yeah for sure! but in this situation i laid out my boundaries very clearly and he ended up crossing them. he would beg for forgiveness at first and then he started saying that he can’t keep doing this to me and i deserve better. and i just don’t know what’s true bc if i deserve better and you want to be with me be better yk? i feel like it’s bs

and to the best of my knowledge there was nothing new he learned about me between wanting to fight and giving up

Tbh he sounds like a confused individual or doesn’t know how to express himself correctly which is why youre getting mixed signals. I think you already know where you stand, and youre just gracefully giving him the time of day

yeah. i just don’t date a lot of guys so when i like someone it’s hard to let go of the good times. and idk i could never move this way towards someone so im definitely very confused

He agreed to those boundaries hoping they would be flexible and he could move them where he wanted to. And now that he’s realized you’re never gonna move them for him, he’s accepted that you’re not a good match for each other.

which is so dumb bc i told him i left my ex for pushing a boundary like i was not playing the “chill gf” role at all. such a waste of time
