If a woman in a marriage asks for a divorce and the man says no and refuses to sign the papers, if she then cheats on him is it wrong?

I’m pretty sure a divorce can be done without the other’s consent

Disclaimer I am female, but I think that once a person declares something over, it is over regardless of the other person’s protests or lengthy legal proceedings. Nobody owns another person.

When the partner refuses to sign the divorce then usually takes over a year of legal preceding, so my question still stands. If the wife were to cheat in that time while waiting would it be wrong?

I think if you consider it cheating then it’s wrong because you still consider yourself in that relationship, but if you already feel that the relationship is over and are waiting for the legal process to go through and are dating in that time I don’t think it’s wrong, but I also wouldn’t call it cheating

Pretty sure that’s only a thing in certain US states
