Is there a certain age or year in college that guys become more interested about actually dating? Or like serious relationships? I’m a freshman in college and all the guys I’ve talked to are only interested in hooking up or getting nudes

There's 18 year olds that get married and commit to lifelong relationships, there's also 70 year olds that will never seriously date. On average most guys want to "settle down" or looking in senior year - late twenties

You guys are basically still high schoolers in terms of mentality. Some people are mature at a younger age and some never mature, it’s about finding the right people who have similar ideas of what to get out of life

I don’t think you are old enough for serious relationships tbh. From someone whose first relationship was age 17-18 btw. Shit lasted a year i wasn’t mentally prepped for it at all it was toxic af. Highly recommend you wait a lil bit.

Solid responses from all the others. I would also say, most of the guys interested in a committed LTR aren’t the ones putting themselves out there all that much. Theres a lot of evidence suggesting that when women make the first move, there’s significantly higher relationship success rates.

I agree with others that it can really be an anything goes situation, but frankly, ESPECIALLY freshman year, most people are trying to test the waters, and not looking for something super long term to start. (Age and demographics pending BYU is very different than NYU lol)

We live in an age of infinite social pressure and eternal judging. No one wants to commit to anything until they are sure that it’ll work out.

I think it’s about junior/senior year. Many do after college.

tbh i feel like early on ppl are trying to get the "college experience", unfortunately. but that doesn't mean there's still guys out there that want something genuine
