I would genuinely just refuse on the basis that my state sucks and I HAVE no particular loyalty to it. And if I thought lying about it would brainwash me into changing that, all the more reason I wouldn’t

All of the above + violates the First Amendment!

Not from Texas but I wouldn’t mind it. I don’t see how it’s any different than daying the national anthem

Oh look, Texas’s Senator (who Texans chose to represent them) is fleeing the state ahead of another deadly winter storm. I can’t imagine being proud of electing a cuck who brazenly abandons his constituents whenever things get difficult 🤢

Learning more about the state you live in is always important.

1) A pledge of allegiance doesn’t teach you anything. What could you possibly learn from saying “I pledge allegiance to Texas”? 2) Why do you think that it’s “always important” to learn about your state? Can you say the same about county; do you have a county pledge of allegiance? What about your city/town? What makes the state any different??

Well that has nothing to do with my home country. Nothing is wrong with being proud of where your from, however if the values your country is instilling in you makes you a pos then that’s different
