It’s a red a flag when a girl mainly has guy friends? I (girl) have been into video games since I was in 10th grade now six years later I have some the most amazing online friends a majority of which are guys. None which I can ever see myself with.

Have had to set boundaries with one and he doesn’t talk to me as frequently. Most we talk between daily and weekly when we have free time to game and have met in person before on vacations for all of to hangout together. Even going all of us are going friends wedding in June.

Realistically several of those guys are into you and that’s why I would be weary of my gf’s guy friends, not because I don’t trust her but because I don’t trust them.

This isn’t a red flag bruh you’re allowed to have male friends without wanting to date them

You've gotten a lot of good advice and comments in this thread but I wanted to second a lot of the people saying this isn't a red flag, this isn't at all and I think anyone who argues it is likely has misogynistic views on women because it's ridiculous to argue people of different genders cannot be friends. People definitely can!

Depends on the dynamic for me, if 4-5 single men hang around a single girl and are all straight…it’s a little concerning but doesn’t tell the whole story. A girl I talked to for a while had a gc of her, another girl and 7 dudes. Some were hitting on them and they didn’t realize it, but others treated them like human beings so I wasn’t too concerned with them

I would be more concerned if my partner was thinking that much about the gender of their friends at all. If yall are friends your friends, gender doesn’t matter like people seem to think it does

It’s like there’s seven of us and (2 girls, 4 guys, 1 other (don’t ask)) out of them I’m the only girl that’s straight and all four guys are straight, one is getting married, other has a long term girlfriend, one I rejected, and the other just friends like everyone else. Besides that I’ve also just always gotten along better with guys.

But that’s because I have a hard time talking to people (especially other girls growing up). I barely read body language or voice tone. Because of this more than half the time I talked to girls they thought I weird cause I won’t react how they expected meanwhile most guys didn’t care so life was just easier. I’d also just rather do more active things that most the girls I did know just didn’t like to do (airsoft vs shopping).

Okay im gonna be really feminist for a second. None of what you’ve mentioned here is innate to gender at all, its all to do with social norms and gendered socialization, which varies a lot more than people usually think about. I also had an easier time talking to men growing up (im transmasc) but as an adult I’ve found a ton of women i can talk to just as easily. If you’re having trouble with body language and tone, you need people who are more clear in their communication, not specifically men

What I mean by all this is you really gotta think about what traits you like in your friends and not tie those traits to people’s genders bc you’ll probably find better friends and be happier if you’re not so worried about gender. And ik its hard bc most other people *are* really worried about it, but you can find communities that aren’t and its really a lot nicer

There's no reason to assume a guy being friends with a woman means they automatically have to be into her, and I think without context of how those guys are around her and how they feel about her, that's a very gross way to view people you don't know. As User 2 put too, it's immature to assume people can't be friends with people of a gender they can have feelings for so I think you may wanna examine your biases around this.
