Also because it’s not in our circle. Can I do anything personally to change what happened or what’s going to happen to those guys? Nope, it’s out of my hands. I can only control the situations and protect the people I encounter irl, so there’s no need to dwell on one that’s out of my control beyond encouraging other people to pay more attention and hold other people accountable in their circles irl too

TLDR, there’s no call to action that anyone who’s not actively involved in the case can do to change anything. What does anyone posting about it realistically expect men to do? Go back in time? Spy on these frats that are known for that shit? We’re being told to take accountability for the actions of dudes who live thousands of miles away. That’s why no men are talking about it. There’s nothing anybody, men nor women, can do besides just talk about the case. No real change can occur from it

i’m not expecting innocent men to take accountability or fix anything about the case, but it would be nice to just see more men bring awareness to it just to say hey this is fucked up and unacceptable. i think ppl underestimate the social significance of people speaking out about this shit and publicly shaming/ denouncing this behavior.

That’s true, but I think what a lot of women don’t see is we already do that too. Have you seen how much shit we give frats at the schools we go to, or only when an incident actually (and unfortunately, inevitably) happens? We already talk about these issues all the time, that’s why we find it hard to get invested in one specific one. We warn about and denounce these people all the time, but nobody listens until one makes headlines. It gets tiring

Nope. No clue what you’re referring to, though I can figure it out based on context clues. Can’t speak for this in particular, but the men on my campus certainly are outspoken about the issues we are facing on our campus, at the very least.
