Not an attack or anything but genuinely how is there this much of a double standard among the kind of guys who comment this shit. What actually goes through their head. Do you know anyone who thinks like this (shaming women of behavior men are doing too)

It’s shameful and embarrassing for anyone doing that

I agree men need to be held to the same standard.

Not justifying this but women have many many double standards as well

i knew a few dudes who thought like this, never bothered to understand why and waste my time on something so dumb

Where did u meet those dudes (so I can avoid the ground they walk on)

Or alternatively we could just not be that offended by people existing in their bodies in general, men or women

Missouri (i am also from Missouri) (also they were literal neo-nazis so their “opinion” checks out)

(I mean I disagree, I don’t get why we are so afraid of the human body but I digress) it’s cool you’re judgmental of both but my question was about the fact the guys in the comments ONLY talk about the women

It’s them doing it in public I got the problem with

Again not answering my question and also why are we so afraid of human bodies. It’s just skin.

But was he in his underwear tho? Plus in the digital age all it takes is one photo or video to go viral then all photos and videos from that event go viral and corporate America likes to uphold an image they don’t have

Oh so you’re just trying to point at the bad things other people do in order to justify your own behavior

That seems reductive of people. Its not “just a body” its a person. And how a person carries themselves is emblematic of their character

upvote 13 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> #2 3w

Sorry, a person existing in their body is not emblematic of any character. Its skin. Why as a society did we decide human flex being visable is immoral

Explain to me how waking around with your skin (not your genitals) just your skin is bad. And again men have been walking around shirtless for ages and I’ve never seen people cate

You dont exist in isolation, you exist within yourself and in the perception of others. You have a duty of respect to others as you coexist in the same space.

This question is inherently about morality. You cant ask why the heavenly bodies remain in orbit then demand we not discuss physics.

I asked why there is a double standard and whether you know anyone with that double standard. Not what you think about the morals

upvote -1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> OP 3w

The double standard exists because of the inconsistent morality between people. This is what I mean by hedonism being the death of virtue. Everyone pursues their own self interest, so no one can make consistent judgements of themselves or others.

So what you’re saying is you think it’s in men’s self interest to overlook other men doing what they criticize women for? Fair enough

The same goes for women, but yes. Such is the death of virtue

Have humans ever really had virtue tbh

upvote -1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> OP 3w

No one “has” virtue. It is a pursuit. A brave man is not a brave man until he acts bravely. Your virtues are revealed when you practice them.

Well most of the guys aren’t planning on marrying men, so they’re less focused on them

upvote 8 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #7 3w

They’re also not planning to marry these particular women.

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> OP 3w

Well they don’t want to marry these particular women *because they’re doing this*. Whereas they don’t want to marry men in general

upvote 7 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #7 3w

Why only criticize the women though in a way that makes it sound like only women are bad, like do they even think about the fact that men are also engaging in this behavior, or do they only really think about women. Is it a matter of wanting to control the sex they plan to marry, or something else

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> OP 3w

They only criticize the women because *they are only interested in the women*. They’re not worried about their future husband being an ex-whore. It’s not complicated

upvote 7 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #7 3w

Don’t they realize how shitty that is though?

upvote 0 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> OP 3w

It’s shitty for them to not be bisexual?

upvote 10 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #7 3w

To criticize women and act like only women are bad while ignoring the actions of men just because of a desire to have all women be ideal wife and girlfriend material. And I’m not saying criticizing women is bad, but viciously slutshaming women while acting like men are better, when both sexes are partaking in this behavior on the screen in front of them is really sexist and hypocritical

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> OP 3w

They’re not saying men are better though, you are, they’re ignoring the men completely. They’re trying to set a standard for the people they have an interest in. In turn, you the women get to set your own standards for men to live up to.

upvote 10 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #7 3w

They actually did. Sorry for not elaborating but a lot of the comments were tearing down women while either actively stating or implying that men are better behaved

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #7 3w

And it’s not really “setting the standard” as much as it’s shamming or demeaning

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> OP 3w

Well, then go argue with them there

upvote 7 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #7 3w

I’m not looking for an argument, especially not on instagram lol. I’m just looking into inspires from better men about their experiences with the mindset and how it’s come to be

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> OP 3w

Well how it comes to be is simple. There are guys who want society to have a sense of decency, who discourage this. And there are guys who want to see a bunch of college girls running around in their underwear, who encourage this and join in ‘to show their support’.

upvote 2 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #7 3w

But they don’t want society to have a sense of decency, just women, thus them ONLY commenting on the women and acting like there are no men there

upvote 2 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> OP 3w

Again, they leave policing men’s decency to YOU, the women. And you’re the one asking for this to be normalized.

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #7 3w

Men are clearly also asking for it to be normalized by participating in the behavior. And they’re not “leaving policing men’s behavior to women” they’re denying men have any responsibility in thus

upvote 0 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> OP 3w

I’ll say this again, but slower. The men who are there participating, are there because they want to see college girls in their underwear. They want it normalized, so they can be surrounded by lewd women all the time. The ball is in your court to tell them no. Or to give them what they want.

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #7 3w

I’ll say this again slower. Both men and women are running around in swimsuits. In the comments it’s a bunch of men who didn’t participate, who are criticizing only the women, while acting like men don’t do that, despite seeing clear evidence men do. They are stating they DONT want to see these women and they don’t want it normalized, but they are acting like it’s only a issue among women

upvote 1 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> OP 3w

And you are free to criticize the men and say you don’t want to see the men
