Would it be weird to ask a guys friend if he’s single? Partly because I'm curious and partly because Im hoping the friend might mention it to him and if he is interested back maybe hed say something. Is that a reasonable indirect way of showing interest?

I thought so but a girl JUST did this to me on halloween and then i find out she HAS a boyfriend but yeah that’s reasonable as long as you don’t go on to talk about your boyfriend that you already have

MUCH more effective to ask him himself if he’s single. His friend may feel honor-bound to say he’s single even if he’s not. And yes, it still applies even if one or both guys are totally faithful in their own relationships; you err on the side of leaving your bro that opportunity even if you don’t think he’ll take it

When I started dating we had a shared quote book document in our friend group, and someone quoted the girl who would later be my first girlfriend saying “I like my men autistic.” She was talking about me!

So what’s the point of asking his friend if the answer won’t tell you anything? Do you actually care about the answer, or is this just your way of signaling interest? Bc if it’s that second one then hey, go for it!👍

OP, I for one respectfully disagree with this last part. If you DO have a boyfriend, your potential sidepiece might rather go in knowing about that. Personally, when I find out a girl I’m already hooking up with has a man, I get pissed she didn’t tell me herself, or tell me before we slept together So, lack of consensus here. Use your judgment I guess
