Men do you understand why many women are scared of you?

Yes. I may know I’d never do anything to hurt women, but I know they can’t read my mind. They might not be able to read my face, just seeing a tall white man approaching them could be terrifying

Aside from the basics of physical dominance and personal trauma, I have broad ass shoulders crazy RBF and a pretty deep voice. So, yes. Even ppl I’m dating have told me I can appear overimposing.

Yes of course I do. I would never blame anyone for feeling that way, I know it’s not personal. I work everyday to challenge sexism I see and keep the women in my life safe from discrimination and harassment.

Most men understand they physically overpower a majority of women. Most men don’t consider themselves a danger due to not having ill intent; some show that empathy (the guys you like) some fail to show that empathy (guys you get a weird feeling around)

I do understand it. And I’m afraid of other men too. I’m a small, skinny, and openly queer man, so I’m in danger too sometimes. Women don’t often seem afraid of me, but it happens sometimes which makes me sad, even if it’s understandable. But I do my best to help women feel safe with me

yes of course.

Yes absolutely. My mom was assaulted by a stranger when she was little, and every woman fears that happening to them (can happen to men as well, just less often). Statistics and every day experience prove that. Most guys need to view it like this picture.

Because yall are grouping the sins of specific men in with men in general and drawing a simple map that’s not difficult to discern which men would kill the rapists and which of them are potential rapists?

No. Why should I be lumped in with the bad folk and their bad experience when we’ve never met. You can be cautious of a stranger without being scared and assuming someone is bad because of their gender

No, because I don’t give women a reason to be scared of me. Quite the opposite actually

it's not necessarily fear in the way that you are thinking about. women aren't gonna see a man and then scream and run away. its the fear of what that man could do to you. it's why i advise my girlfriend to never approach a stranger man by herself unless she has too. im not sure why you're taking that so personally

It’s not difficult to spot previous/potential rapists for you? That’s amazing! What traits make it easy to spot one?

You might be asking sarcastically, but it’s an area of focus for a friend’s PHD research thesis. She goes by body language, however I recall one AA meeting (there with a friend) where the guy who spoke last was speaking in such a way we could tell it was as if he was practicing his story incase he got caught and had to explain to a judge/jury what lead him to that point in his life. There’s a number of ways to predict the likelihood and prevent something horrible from happening. But that’s 1/2

2/2 only putting a bandaid on a growing problem. When you don’t kill people for things worthy of death, they multiply. The behavior multiplies in people who were on the fence about committing to it. We’ve let rapists live now for 50 years (since common law capital punishment for it was repealed) and now it’s rampant enough all men are being blamed for the behavior of psychopaths/sociopaths.

Which is to say every psychopath/sociopath isn’t guilty of rape or murder, many appear to have found other outlets for whatever their psychological profile is, but there are ways of telling the likelihood someone is apt to commit these crimes.

Ways such as…? How are you supposed to tell at a quick glance?

Feet, hips, eyes. Feet betray where a person wants to go, not where they are. Hips become a tell the moment something doesn’t start going someone’s way in an interaction. A person will shift either towards an opportunity or away defensively. (Also this is a great place to aim to shoot someone who’s advancing for several reasons) eyes 1/2

2/2 are tricky. Because if a predator is smart, they are going to position themselves where they can glance at their target without appearing too focused on them. But they will position themselves within proximity to potential targets and place themselves in target rich environments. A place like a bar is interesting because predators are not only looking for targets, they are scanning for threats (people who would stop them) and the presence of just one person that might make their plan go 2/3

3/3 the other way, will often cause them to lose focus and try again on a different night. Unless that “threat” person is like any of my coworkers… and they’ve already got a profile on the predator, in which case, it’s their job to make sure there isn’t another night the predator is seeking opportunities. The busier the location the easier it is. The predator is looking for both targets and threats. My coworkers would only be looking for predators.

Then there’s four things to note in any busy building everyone should be aware of, because you can bet predators are: funnels, flow, cover, and concealment. Funnels do exactly that, they are choke points of where people travel. The flow of traffic can create funnels if something happens and either draws or repels people. Cover protects you from flying objects, concealment doesn’t.

I think the most misleading part of this image that pisses off men is that it looks like it measures a percentage of the population instead of shades of a spectrum of men

Feet. Hips. Eyes. Crowded places. Chokepoints. Got it. But it’s really weird that you mention all those details when most of the predators I’ve known never did any of that. They’d just take their targets out on dates. Or invite them to parties. Or bring burgers to their family reunions. Or preach to them in church. Or babysit them for their parents.
