I think this is the wrong way to think about it, because it relies on one’s perception of themself when the situation is regarding another’s perception of themself. Like I don’t see myself as hot, but yet I’m in a loving relationship. I see plenty of people who I think are ugly and unlikable in loving relationships
Having a positive perspective of yourself is important in general, but that’s different from assuming that everyone will see you the way you see yourself. Anyone would be completely delusional to think that way. hot and likable are subjective to a great extent. The answer lies more in internal confidence, and how the object of your affection interacts with you
