I understand your point but this can be a dangerous generalization, I think the bad voices are usually the loudest. You know a vast amount of boys/ men have also been raped and sexually assaulted both by other grown men and women too, it’s just not talked about as much because it’s seen as ‘lesser’ for a man to ‘complain’ about getting fucked by a woman and also seen as ‘gay/ weak’ for getting assaulted by a man
I don't think it's a dangerous generalization. I think it's an accurate one. I've seen several polls and posts here on the past few days of guys saying things like keeping going when a woman wants to stop or taking the condom off without her consent is not SA. It is. I think men's view of rape is of things like the Cornell case where it's outrageously violent and brutal. SA isn't always as loud and in your face and I think we can do a much better job educating youth on the varying types of SA
And consent. I think our sex ed although it has come a long way is still seriously lacking. I know men get assaulted and I agree that's horrible. No victim should feel shame for something that wasn't their fault. But again my point isn't about who is getting assaulted although my post was more pointed as straight men being perpetrators, it's about the lack of education
Oh for sure it's not "all men" but my point is I don't think many men fully understand SA and I think there are some who have done it without even knowing or thinking of it as SA. We need better education. Sure not all your friends are rapists but almost every woman I know has been violated. So it's enough where we clearly need to fix how we talk about this and prevent it
