It honestly feels like the majority of guys like the goth/e girl aesthetic and it makes me insecure sometimes because I don’t look like that at all. Would it be worth trying to fit that aesthetic since the way I am now isn’t what guys like?

I wouldn’t want someone who changes who they are for the purpose of attracting men. Don’t do that, it wouldn’t help anyone

I like a girl, not an aesthetic. The goth/e girl aesthetic is cool, but it isn’t the most attractive to me anyway. You’re your own person and should choose an aesthetic that fits for you. That way you find a guy who is into what you authentically are.

No, a lot of guys just fetishize it and don’t actually care about the culture or the politics (regarding goth/alt, not e-girl). If you’re not interested in the culture I wouldn’t go for it, especially not to just get guys attention

I just don’t think guys like my aesthetic. And I’ve heard it over and over how much they like the goth girl one.

Half of those men think just black hair and lipstick is goth 😭

That’s still the opposite of what I look like

Either way you should stay true to yourself in the way you like and think you look good in

It just hurts to know the way I look and what I like about myself isn’t attractive to them. It’s like im choosing to either be myself or be wanted

You don’t wanna be with someone who can’t appreciate you for who you are, that’ll be worse

I just don’t feel like a guy would ever appreciate who I am with my current aesthetics. They always find a way to speak negatively about it

There’s lots of guys who aren’t into goth girls, including me

It just feels like historically, and this could be bc im from pa idk, that guys view the way i look really negatively. And a lot of the guys I’ve spoken to, to date or not to date even, have all collectively said their “type” is goth girls. My “aesthetic” I guess would be more beachy. Blonde hair, tanned skin, whites and blues.

Blond hair and a tan are widely seen as very conventionally attractive by many so sounds like it’s definitely the result of the specific guys you’re encountering

Not from what I’ve seen irl and online. It’s all abt goth girls while guys especially online say they don’t like blondes bc we’re basic, for fun, etc

Again I think you’re just encountering the wrong people, there are lots of guys who are into your aesthetic
