A month ago, I was so scared of driving that I couldn’t do an easy 5 minute drive to a nearby strip mall. Now, I’ve driven for an hour straight with someone in the car helping ease the anxiety and tomorrow might be driving for 15 minutes all on my own

Are you able to drive on your own or do you need someone else there with you?

I’ve had to drive by myself some but then I feel like I’m going to pass out or scared I will. I am much better with someone in the car but I have a 3 hour drive coming up by myself and I’ve only ever driven 30 mins or so

The way I’ve managed is by reminding myself that regardless of how anxious I feel, I know what I’m doing. But, if I ABSOLUTELY need to, pulling over somewhere to calm down is an option. What’s been most helpful though is the knowledge of just how many times I’ve felt that anxiety start to rise in me and I was able to push through. It’s honestly been really helpful in other areas of my life by giving me real, tangible proof that I can exist without my anxiety controlling me. I can push through-

-it, I don’t have to let it overwhelm and debilitate me

I’m not sure if this is applicable to you, but regardless, I wish you luck! If you’ve driven for 30 minutes at a time on your own, I fully believe you can do 3 hours. And if you need a break, rest stops are there for that reason!
