I struggle to sleep at night bc I am so overly anxious about the future in general. Like tomorrow scares me so much I can’t sleep cz it brings new things and the leads me closer to a future with conflict (issues with my parents) i wanna be freed from doom

You should definitely try looking into breathing techniques and guided meditations to help calm your mind & nervous system before bed. I struggle with the same thing and I’m sorry I know it really sucks, but there are lots of YouTube videos and stuff that have helped me learn how to manage the sense of dread

Ok I do have some recommendations but they’re a little odd 1. Watch YouTube - not a tv show or movie bc you’re going to want to stay awake for the plot, this should allow you to follow along with something while making you sleepy and distracting you from those anxious thoughts 2. Try tart cherry juice with or after dinner - it’s natural melatonin and it makes you sleepy with out having to take anything 3. Try a headache cap - I put mine in the freezer and both the compression and the cold

Also you might want to try doing the “legs up the wall” pose for a few minutes before bed, it’s actually fun and it activates your parasympathetic nervous system which helps calm you down. Good for your circulation and back too.

… shock the nervous system and help distract you’re brain from racing thoughts 4. This is a game I think I made up but pick a category ex: fruits and then go through the rainbow and name a fruit or two for every color - not only is it distracting but it works to exhaust your mind
