Well how about you try to weight the potential pros with the potential cons? I haven’t personally taken lexapro but I’ve taken quite a few things similar to it and with similar side effects, and for all of them the side effects (if any) only lasted a few days to a week. Lexapro is considered one of the most well tolerated ssri’s as well

I’ve got a history of getting many of the side effects in the first few weeks but lexapro was one of the easiest ssris I’ve gotten onto. The first few weeks are scary, but I can function better than before. I can’t tell you that it’ll work for you or that you’ll find it worth it or that it’ll be what you stick with, but I can tell you it was worth it for me and there’s research out there that might ease your mind on side effects (or make it worse, you do you). All in all, good luck

I haven’t had any side effects thus far, maybe a little weight gain (my doctor claimed it was just ‘stress eating’ bc I’m already overweight though :/), but it also hasn’t been fully effective for me either. I’m on the mad dosage and have also tried to enhance it with abilify (did NOT work for me). Honestly, the best you can do is try, and if you feel horrible after just a couple weeks you can always reach out to your doc or psychologist!!

I take Lexapro and it actually really helps with my anxiety a lot. The withdrawal symptoms are a little difficult to manage if you forget to take it so thats the only reason why it would be hard to get off of it but also the side effects may not be the same for everyone so my advice it never hurts to try it out for a little while just to see if your anxiety can improve

Consider you take it and you have some sort of major side effects (very low chance). Then you’ll have maybe a bad day or two and be done with it. But consider you take it and you have either minor or no side effects but it helps you? Then you could have potentially years or forever of it helping you. You got this, and there’s plenty more options if lexapro doesn’t seem to help 🙂

I haven’t personally had any bad side effects or have felt horrible on it but I don’t even take that high of a dose . I think rn I’m just at 10 mg
