AOT is a really well produced anime (I still think it’s glazed and overhyped) so it will be hard for him to find something to watch independently later. Based on his interests, try finding him an anime you think represents him and his interests well. Anime is a great way to depict emotion that other media can’t create so emotional connections to stories is often more important than the story itself. For example, I love adventures and problem solving puzzles so JoJo was a big emotional investment
If your dad is big into the gym maybe DBZ. If he’s into more philosophical things maybe Vinland Saga. Or, maybe he’s a perfectionist and strives to be the greatest you could introduce him to reading Vagabond (also based on history so he may enjoy that too). Overall… focus on emotion over good storytelling. Naruto is a good classic that I feel like everyone can see part of themselves in too.
i love AOT, as a writer i appreciate the way the story was told and i love the small details that you get to see on your second watch. second watch is definitely another experience. aot was my first anime and i think i watched death note after and then blue lock (weird i know lol.) my brother LOVES dbz so much so we may possibly do that. i think solo leveling despite the character depth lacking is a good next anime or possibly vinland saga. they are very different so i think based on that i can
i can see what he likes. he’s been so locked into aot and i see the emotion on his face and his voice when he watches it. it’s like seeing a little kid again lol. i mean shit maybe even demon slayer. i MAY show him invincible though highly next (even tho it’s not an anime) because i just love it. i would show him some things but the fan service can get weird so im gonna ease it into him. i also only say solo leveling next because my mom knows it’s becoming a show and she loves the actor who’s
