I think Frieren is one of the few anime where the English dub is better than the Japanese. Mallorie rodak especially kills it as Frieren

frieren, fullmetal alchemist brotherhood, ouran high school host club, and saiki k (season 1) are the anime I think have better english dubs than japanese. HEAVY on fmab. For ouran and saiki, it’s more about comedy translating better when it’s in your native language but also the way the VAs commit to it.

My list is basically Cowboy Bebop, Black Lagoon, FMAB, and Hellsing Ultimate. I think of black lagoon especially highly because it does what more anime really should do, which is localizing the really rough nuances and tone of its characters by using swears. It’s the only anime I can think of off the top of my head that actually uses the word “fuck”, and it makes the setting better.

Mob Psycho100 is has a pretty great dub too.

I agree black lagoon dub is fantastic but I think it’s more than just the swears. I think the swears are really just because it’s not a shonen or a shojo which a lot of the popular and common anime are. I think it works more because English language fits the setting and genre better since it’s quite westernized
