Starters would definitely be Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, and Attack on Titan. Romance would be Kamisama kiss (my favorite romance), comedy is def Saiki K (my best friends favorite anime)

Some good gritty shows are: 91 days, Tokyo Ghoul (I don’t recommend :re anime), Darker than Black, death note. Good romances are: Orange, Ancient Magnus Bride, my happy marriage, spirited away, from up on poppy hill, swan lake 1981 dub

meh, i think watching jjk demon slayer all the basic ones are better first. hxh is a bit complex and im kinda glad i waited to watch it except watching it first

The only confusing thing about HxH is the nen system and they really nail it in during like 3 arcs. I think jjk is more confusing due to the cursed energy system. Like, I still don’t understand purple or domain expansion and I have read the manga and watched the anime. I also think that HxH is very diverse in its enemies (exam opponents, bandits, arena players, game players, animals, etc) while jjk just really sticks to curses and corrupt people.

HxH also has way more interesting characters too compared to both jjk and demon slayer. Gon and Kurapika such a complex characters while Tanjiro and Yuji are more basic in terms of goals and personality. Of course everyone can like different animes and have different opinions, but I just think HxH is way less basic and easier to get into than jjk or demon slayer. Especially as a new watcher. It was the first anime that I liked and fully watched, so that’s why I’m so passionate about this.

I didn’t think you’re hating on it, it’s all good! I just wanted to explain my side of it. I’m happy that you’re into anime despite what show got you there <3

surprisingly blue lock and death note were my second and third anime’s which is weird. i can’t really say anything either because i watched AOT first and it wasn’t just an anime to me but an actual show. if i could go back, i def would watch aot first again.

I’m sorry that your manager yelled at you! I hope you have a better day and that your manager will appreciate your work. I could NOT watch AoT as a first. That show (specifically season 2 and 3) traumatized me so hard 😭. I still love it and recommend it, though. You are a trooper for watching AoT first. Death Note’s a good one. I’m not usually one for dubs, but DN’s dub is so nice to listen to. I haven’t seen blue lock yet, but I’m waiting for the manga to end so I can read it!

Hxh good but it's really slow after New York City. Plus like 140 episodes maybe too much

I think that the greed island arc was the worst arc. But, everything else is fine past and before that. I don’t think there is such thing as too long of an anime as long as the pacing and plot is good. If One Piece had reasonable pacing, then I wouldn’t care that it has 1,000+ episodes.
