I honestly don’t mind that ship too much. What I don’t like is the shippers who relentlessly harass others for liking the ships that involve either of those two. I got doxxed by kiribaku shippers.

oh man they mustve really.. liked their ship.. well i personally get irritated when someone ships deku with someone else knowing his only interest is uruaka then they get mad when its revealed he wants her

Yeah. I get that, tbh I don’t really get bothered by what people ship as long as they don’t harass others. Shipping keeps fan bases alive! I thought their relationship was cute but I respect people’s shipping preferences. Bakudeku shippers can definitely get annoying sometimes though, like any shippers when they take things too far.

I’ll take it a step further and say any ship that people try and insist is canon that goes against a character’s stated sexuality. There is a frightening number of people who can’t accept that their favorite ship will never be canon and it’s at the expense of the character and real people who share that character’s experience. I’ve found that those same people are just as pushy IRL, and I have no patience for it.

THIS exactly thats why bakudeku irritates me so much, its one thing to make a ship but its another to literally go around the storyline and make a ship that completely contradicts the dynamic between the two characters especially if the sexuality doesnt align

I don’t mind people doing the shipping necessarily, trying to dissuade them is futile, it’s more like when they try and say “well but it COULD be canon” and ignore things fundamental to that character to do so. They don’t respect the character’s sexuality and by extension they disrespect real people’s ability to say no. It gets worse when it’s a queer character imo because there’s not nearly as many of them, but it annoys me regardless.
