Opinions on Sword Art Online And Shangri-La Frontier I’m a bit new to game play anime. Just wanting to get some thoughts on these. A friend recommended them to me because I just recently watched Solo Leveling. Just thought I’d ask for more opinions.

Sword art online is good, one of the first series I watched. Author is a bit weird but good series, especially the later seasons SLF is good too, I really enjoyed watching it when it came out. Animation is fucking beautiful, plot is somewhat compelling but its characters playing a game bc they want to so if high stakes stories are what you want maybe not

SAO is kinda a shit adaptation of the books and skips like a lot of the core themes and gets really confused as to what it wants to make more kid friendly and what it wants to keep If u like the concept but feel like something is off check out the spin off gun gale online 🤷‍♀️

SAO is one of my favorite animes of all time and I come back to it regularly to experience the first season again and dream of a world where I could get stuck in a vr death game for years The show has some flaws and it’s not a masterpiece but imo it’s a decent show, maybe a 5/10 for me if I set aside my nostalgia

SAO is good for beginners but it follows the same basic gaming isekai cliches. I would highly recommend SLF because the animation is top tier and the story is pretty chill - the comedy is good!

Thank you all for the feedback and advice! 😎 Can confirm that I started SLF and It’s definitely a good one. I think I binged like 10 eps in one day. Gonna start SAO tomorrow after class because I don’t have classes on Fridays.
