Honestly, I don’t even wanna know. I’ve actively dropped 2 anime, record of grancrest war, and this, both include sudden and jarring sexual assault that is sooo fucked up. Like hard slam the book shut moment.

it’s like, on the one hand I think an extremely distressing depiction of sexual violence is still ultimately preferable over one that fails to convey the true horror of something like that being done to you on the other: I can stomach all kinds of depravity in fiction, but a scene like that actually feels emotionally painful to watch, and a lot of us don’t learn anything we didn’t already know from being exposed to that pain, so it Does feel pretty… excessive? idk. “jarring” is exactly it

I’m not gonna say to just thug it out and keep reading, BUT it gets better and there’s a lot less sexual assault, the things Griffith does that are worse than the eclipse have nothing to do with rape. I’m gonna try and keep it spoiler free but the other things Griffith does just completely fuck over the world, and the other honestly puts guts in a worse state than after the eclipse.
