Oh dude you need to go to Ikebukuro, that was my mecca unironically. Between 8 floors of animate and the bajillion Kbooks locations I did insane damage there

Not at all. Also, I’m not a mainstream fan. I tend to enjoy stuff from way back when or Kirara. And to get everything I needed that day, I had to speak Japanese, which I do. The cashier has to verify if I could speak and read Japanese because all the titles I read are not in English. But once she got I was fluent, she was more than happy to sell me all of the books.

I will go next time, but I am still trying to do some damage control because in our family that area has a reputation as a red light district. But maybe next time I’ll be able to find some rare manga.

Good. The entire nation shuts down on oshougatsu. I did that once in Sapporo. My butt was freezing and I had no Sapporo beer to warm me up. But we did have really good natural hot springs.

Wait no they’re being dead serious there was a string of serial pooping incidents around Tokyo a few years back (but it got brought back up by someone farming clicks so it’s making the rounds again)

“civilized nation” with one of the harshest work cultures, high levels of gender inequality in workplaces, and extremely high suicide rates. every country has its issues, you can’t pretend like any country is perfect.
