Japanese anime fans when the mc of the episode is a badass woman instead of a MINOR being sexualized

Wow, that’s insane. I thought it was great, girl escapes honor killing and ends generational abuse while also getting revenge? But no, we’re being sexist, acting like Americans wrote it. This was made in Japan, by a Japanese man, about conservative Japanese families, sexism, and generational abuse. Insane.

sorry but if we wanna make generalizations here Japanese fans are the ones that keep garbage like rent a girlfriend alive so they cant be talking about western fans not ā€œliking plotā€ or whatever 😭

Source material for this arc pretty lack luster. It's jjk don't expect crazy plot, I want the show for the animation tbh

i’m sorry but japan has horrible culture and 50% of girls are already assaulted by age 14. i take their opinion extremely extremely lightly.

Maki went crazy. It was amazing. Now I’m about to watch the episode after that

I just opened yikyak back up since I posted this. I’ve been gaming like I’m back in high school cause my college can’t open because of the snow storm. I wanted to say I liked the episode I thought. It was cool. In Japan the age of consent is 16. Some people say it’s 13 but it was raised. I’m wasian that’s why I have cousins who live there. And I do like rage baiting them with episodes like this because they genuinely (not all but a majority of people there) do not like them

I read that Solo Leveling is doing poorly in Japan too. Don’t know what’s up with them recently

You didn’t like the culling game in the manga?

the only time they like strong and powerful women is when her boobs are out, gets her clothes cut off during battle and isn’t the main person to end a battle. they want them to be placeholders.

it has no big story currently, it’s honestly gonna get better but i also promise it’s because it’s a manhwa. many japanese don’t like koreans and vice versa but it’s been better now

I mean more the maki arc, but culling arc was kinda just plot for spamming fights tbh. Like it's gonna be a fun watch but the plot kinda mid

I haven’t read the manhwa but I meant the anime. Where it left off we just discovered a whole other world with these different ā€œmonarchsā€ and it looked like he was going into that world. As far as everything else tho, you’re most likely right

yeah! there’s a lot after and then there’s ragnarok too that continues the story with his son.

it’s not a bad story at all but i think if he added more personal scenes and maybe made jin woo more relatable and seem more human like then it would be better. it’s just straight action and plot and no STORY

I agree with this. The culling arc had such potential to be a HxH Hunter exam phase 4 version, but all this rule build up and information dump didn’t really mean much in the end

i think hxh has a lighter feel to it, i feel like this would represent more the hunger games if anything. would be cool if they could’ve done something like the hunter exam but its too depressing now 😭😭😭

Yeah HxH exam was insanely brutal to be honest. It had a light tone, but people were dying in so many gruesome ways (fungus, being eaten alive, falling to their deaths, murdered, poisoned) 😭

She actually is still a minor. They’re all supposed to be high school students, apart from the ones who are teachers.

The Japanese broadcast of solo leveling is actually completely different from all the other international releases. Like on the level of what 4kids did to Yugioh. Look it up.

I liked it, but honestly it felt way more badass in the mangas. It felt like the music choice and some of the editing kinda undercut the seriousness and darkness of the situation. That’s just my opinion though. Obviously nothing’s gonna beat whatever we imagined when we read something.

You get my point though don’t you? She’s not animated like the typical minor in popular japanese anime

Idkk, there’s plenty female MC’s who finish fights in anime. But just like when the guy does it, their clothes are torn

And he has been for awhile. I told them they knew this was going to happen they’ve read the manga. Them and their friends getting so upset about it makes the rage bait so much better 😈
