As someone who played some of the games and isn’t a super big fan of them, I like it. If you’re watching bc of the games it’s better to just treat it as its own thing and not a show version of the games.

i’ve never even played the games and i can tell you it’s bad. however, it’s an extremely unique flavor of bad that you can’t really get anywhere else and is fun to watch

Oh, I know I have seen the first season and I have played all of the devil may cry again. I am treating it like it’s its own thing because they video game the manga in the anime before the remake all take place in separate events.

like, the scene that sealed it for me involved Dante on a motorcycle with his big fuck-off anime sword, dropping onto a highway (entire background was distractingly terrible 3d animation) as the soundtrack cuts out and you hear the dulcet tones of Last Resort by Papa Roach begin. it’s not good but it’s a good time
