AITA? Me and my sister are 9 years apart. She’s older than me. During my childhood she avoided me at every cost and refused to commit to any bonding time. Now im turning 21 and she wants this deep and strong relationship that i can’t give to her.

But the issue is that she makes me feel bad for not being able to fully bond or create an emotional connection after years of being brushed aside and ignored. We live several states away in different time zones so it’s even harder to connect and I’ve outgrown my desire for a connection with her. AITA for that?

NTA. My dads sister and parents didn’t bother connecting with me when I was little and now they want to and I’m just not interested

NTA - you owe no obligation to her even tho she’s family. The only obligation you have is to yourself, and if she treated you poorly for so long naturally respect has been lost. Unless she shows she is willing to put in effort, it doesn’t seem worth it. Plus there’s no guarantee she’ll keep up with the relationship either

I have a 15 year age gap with my brother. We live with different parents. I make time for him. Not an excuse
