It’s fine if you don’t like kids. They can be annoying. But mistreating kids and sneering at them for being kids in public spaces makes you an ass. Those spaces are for EVERYONE, not just you. If you don’t like it then stay home.

Sadly, I’ve seen kids tearing up restaurants and stores and run around screaming like banshees. Sometimes “being a kid” isn’t a valid excuse. I blame the parents.

True but they should also behave in public and not like animals

This is fair, but kids should also be able to behave

See I have no issues with kids existing anywhere, it’s just really agitating when I’m trying to enjoy my time out with friends and/or family and there’s a bunch of kids running around and tearing the place up. It is 100% on the parents too bc ik I almost never acted like that as a kid bc I knew I’d get my ass whopped if I acted like that in public.

I agree with everyone here. This is not excusing kids being actively violent, destructive, or disrespectful. That shit should be called out and so should the parents who enable that behavior! I’m counting that as separate from a kid struggling to process an emotion, struggling with hand-eye coordination, misreading social cues, being impulsive, or loud and needing some grace.

Kids being kids, yes! Kids being absolutely out of control due to no/lack of parenting and discipline? No.

Yeah I feel like the only difference between kids of previous generations and now is that they have smart phones. Everything else is pretty similar. It’s just that because we were ALSO young back then we didn’t notice how obnoxious we were.

… i literally have a little sister lmao. i see her interact w her peers and all of her peers are genuinely brianrotted idiots who’s are the loudest and most disrespectful kids ever. i also coached her lacrosse team and saw abt the same behavior. parents don’t raise kids right now, im not saying that this generation of kids is randomly more annoying, im fully aware its mostly millennial parents fault, but sorry that’s not my problem. they are annoying now lmao, i feel bad for them

i don’t just mean brain rot itself , i was a vine and discord kid so im aware, i mean their brains are quite literally rotted. most of her fifth grades friends are at like a second grade reading level, i already know of a few using chat gbt, i hear so many uneducated things like making fun of handicapped ppl, etc. like covid genuinely did smthing to newer parents and society that has kids so chronically online that they have no real life social or critical skills and i see it all the time.
