Oh, this sounds messy. I guess it depends on the dynamic of all y’all’s friendships with eachother. Do you think if your best friend found out it would be a big deal to her? It’s up to u if ur willing to risk hurting her feelings more than just rejecting her.

NTA but Im a little confused; you dont owe her reciprocation and especially if this was happening before and she knew? Totally on her to deal with even if its a shitty situation, Im more so confused on your status with her? Did you reciprocate and are now planning to double back and happened to hook up with another friend in between or...?

Well we were hooking up before she told me her feelings, and she knew about it, but I know now that it did hurt her feelings then... ultimately that's a good question, I believe it would hurt her more if she did find out

The mutual friend and I were hooking up, then my best friend told me her feelings, and I told her I'd had feelings earlier in our friendship and maybe we could try, but didn't commit to anything, though did let her know I was stopping hooking up with the friend

Oh see thats kinda fucked... offering to try is commitment even if you didnt put a label on it yet. I really dont think its that hard to say to this other person hey Im sorting something out with so and so and dont wanna disrespect either of you by hooking up rn, especially if you told her you wouldnt be hooking up anymore, this is why context is important youre def the ah
