NTA being able to find a little bit of joy in a scary situation is a pretty good way to get through it!

I just got hit my a truck as well. And am totally fine. It like I’m glad I’m okay but it was a little scary but my brain registered it as a roller coaster. Like a thrill less panic.

I got back to my apartment afterwards and told my roommate about it, and I was on my way to the deli for a sandwich when I got hit, the most upset I sounded in the whole story was “And I didn’t even get my sandwich!” so then he drove me to the deli lmao

what’s weird is that my brain like blocked off the memory of the actual impact, I still don’t remember being hit, I remember being on my bike, and then I remember being on the ground seeing my bike under their tire and their headlights in my face, followed by the driver jumping out to check on me. The driver and I actually even hugged because I was too happy to be alive and unharmed to even be mad at her.

awwwww that last part is so sweet. sounds right that you blocked it out, even if it can feel frustrating. probably best to not remember

I would have pissed myself and cried when it happened so the payout was bigger

WOW yeah I was concerned about that but in my case I think it’s just his shoulder and head so I gotta watch him for a while. How long since your friends crash?
