I don’t think so, if it’s a point of contention in your relationship it never hurts to talk about with him. If he gets up in arms about it he’s probably not for you, sorry to say.

Do you give verbal validation? If you don’t, you should start and maybe he will too. If you do, tell him that you also wanna be called pretty verbally.
