My friend knows I don’t like parties so she never invites me to them or when she does 8/10 i’ll say no unless it’s a special occasion like a birthday however, she also doesn’t invite me to dinners, activities, other hangouts, she even went

We only hangout one on one but anything group related she doesn’t invite me and at first I thought it’s because she just wants a friend group outside of me (completely normal) but then her new roommate that she met this year is in attendance at all these different things with them

I have a theory of what this can be about but I just don’t know what to do because we’ve been friends for so long and I value our friendship outside of this situation

if you told her you're not a party person, she might have overcorrected and is assuming any/all group activities is too much for you, esp public events. maybe she went ice skating with the other person because she thought you would be overwhelmed socially by a busy rink? you could try talking to her and letting her know you feel a bit left out and would like to be invited to more "small group" activities if thats something youre interested in.

to me it just sounds like she's trying to be a respectful friend

I’m not a socially anxious person I just don’t enjoy myself at parties bc I don’t drink and always end up being the babysitter. But, thank you for this perspective.
